After writing for several years on and off on my blog, AgSnap.com, I've decided to shift my efforts to this website, BuySellGPS.com . You can expect generally shorter, more technical articles for updates on John Deere products and services. As the current generation of management at Deere & Co. moves forward, they are rapidly changing availability of activations and subscriptions on older products; This is my attempt to educate the general public on these changes before the deadlines. I do not represent John Deere, nor any dealers in any way shape or form. Content on this website should be considered as-is without warranty or guarantee. Please contact your local John Deere dealership with any questions, comments or concerns.
John Deere Changes to Activation Availability For GreenStar™ 3 2630 and GS3 CommandCenter™ Displays
The following GS3 Activations will no longer be available to purchase new on beginning August 1, 2025:
- GS3 AutoTrac™ SF1 to AutoTrac™ SF2 / Any Signal Level AutoTrac™ Upgrade
- GS3 RowSense / RowSense SF2
- GS3 Machine Sync
- GS3 Surface Water Pro Plus
Used/Existing GS3 RowSense, Machine Sync and Surface Water Pro Plus activations will be unaffected and still be transferrable
To my knowledge, there is not currently any deadline to end sales of other new GS3 activations:
- GS3 AutoTrac™ (any signal level)
- GS3 PivotPro (circle track)
- GS3 Section Control
- GS3 iTEC™ Pro
NOTES:
- BuySellGPS.com will continue to sell used GS3 activations of all kinds - and 2630 Displays and GS3 CommandCenter™ Displays
- Existing activations will continue to function
- Existing activations will continue to transferrable between 2630 displays and/or GS3 CommandCenter™ Displays
- In the event a GS3 display loses activations, or needs to be factory reprogrammed, John Deere dealers will still be able to re-activate displays
- GS3 Activations cannot be transferred to or upgraded to Gen 4 or G5 Series Displays
Sales of new GS3 iGuide Activations previously ended in 2012
Sales of the GS2 to GS3 Upgrade Activations ended in 2022
